The “Kinderhospitalverein” is the association “behind the curtains”. Since the 19th century, it is a club of Osnabrueck citizens who maintain the Kinderhospital, with their primary focus “to care for children’s health in the Osnabrueck region”. All work from the club members, especially the executive board members, is honorary work, performed in addition to their respective employments.
The Hospital itself is jointly directed by the head of the administration (Mr. Wilfried Luebbers), the head nurse (Ms. Hildegard Wewers) and the head physician (Prof. Norbert Albers).

As most hospitals in Germany, we thrive to reach an excellent service to all sick children. To this avail, we have established a system for quality management (KTQ) based on European standards (EFQM). You may notice our regular questionnaires for families, they are one part of this system. Standardized procedures are incorporated into formal acts such as the admission as well as into medical procedures that adhere to national guidelines.
